The San Diego Regional Watershed Monitoring Consortium (SDCWMC) facilitates and coordinates water monitoring activities throughout the region. For World Water Monitoing Day, we arrange the following to foster K-12 student participation in this month-long event:
- provide testing equipment / “kits”
- help with identifying local sites that are easy to get to and publicly accessible
- provide funding for buses to get to the local streams and waterways to participate
- collect all results and publish them on our website

Students from Turkmenistan are eager to participate in World Water Monitoring Month and to sample water from the watershed in their regions for further posting and sharing results with the peers around the globe. This will undoubtedly increase awareness of nowadays ecological problems and develop mutual understanding between them people.

Turkmen students have got a kit to sample water that Liz was so kind to mail for them. One of our teachers leading a group of students has already registered on the site as a group.

We opened a new theme World Water Monitoring Month on Educational Portal of Turkmenistan at http://gcetm.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=73. WWMM participants are more than welcome to participate in discussion.
On October 5, three students from Ashgabat School 10 Begench, Leyli and Xseniya took water samples for further testing it on four criteria in the frames of World Water Monitoring Month which takes place from September 18 to October 18.
They went to the natural watersheds in the surroundings of their home city Ashgabat and filled in bottles with Garagum Canal and Yanbash River water for further testing it in the Alumni Resource Center (ARC), Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
